GW Equity Institute Strategic Planning Retreat

During this retreat, we will be joined by two special guests who will assist us with brainstorming the next steps in the strategic planning process for the Equity Institute.


The Jury's Still Out: What the Murder of Henry Glover Tells Us about Police Accountability and our Justice System Today

Join us on Tuesday, May 2, at 4 pm to hear from GW Law Alum and Author Jared Fishman as he discusses his new book, "Fire on the Levee: The Murder of Henry Glover and the Search for Justice after Hurricane Katrina." Join us to learn about the multi-year saga to solve the crime and hold the police accountable from people at the center of the case. The evening will include a panel discussion on how Henry Glover's murder should inform our current efforts to build a more effective and fair justice system.

Equity in Global Healthcare: Accessing Resources for Change Workshop

This event featured a Keynote Session led by a team of surgeons from GW and Africa reporting on their EII-funded research on “The Impact of Colonialism on Surgical Training Structures on Africa.” Additional sessions discussed networking, funding, and publication for research.
